Senior DoD ISSE – RMF & Security Engineer (Onsite)

Job summary

Bowhead seeks an ISSE to join our team supporting the NSWC Corona program in Norco, California. The candidate will document systems design across multiple enclaves, including differing data protection requirements, and apply RMF accreditation processes to secure the environment.

The role is 100% onsite and requires experience with DoD policy, vulnerability management, and secure networking to guide development teams in achieving compliance and a strong security posture.

Qualifications

• 9+ years ISSE experience on large multi-tier programs.
• DoD RMF/DIACAP accreditation knowledge.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, computer architectures, and network topologies.
• Experience with DISA STIGs/SRGs and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Create, review and edit authorization documentation per DoD policy.
• Implement DoD RMF system accreditation processes.
• Assess risk of integrated open source and COTS/GOTS components.
• Use vulnerability management systems and automated security scans.
• Collaborate with diverse audiences and facilitate data gathering.
