Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support DoD programs in Dahlgren, VA. The role focuses on RMF A&A packaging, risk management, and continuous monitoring, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to ensure proper control implementation.

Qualified candidates will have an active DoD TS clearance, IAT II certification, and 3+ years of RMF/A&A experience. Hybrid work arrangement; salary $55-$67/hr on W2; contract-to-hire opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years of RMF/A&A experience with DoD programs.
• Knowledge of NIST sp 800-53/800-37 and DoD cyber requirements.
• Experience testing security controls and conducting vulnerability assessments.
• Experience with Nessus and DoD accreditation processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage RMF A&A packages.
• Support RMF processes and risk management activities.
• Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and gaps.
• Document findings and provide risk mitigation recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineers and system owners to implement controls.
• Support continuous monitoring and compliance efforts.
• Assist with IATT documentation and activities.
• Maintain security artifacts and stay current on regulations.
