Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking an experienced Senior DoD Staff Writing SME to craft precise DoD documents and AI prompts for remote engagement. This contract role offers flexible hours (10-40 hrs/week) and hourly compensation between $40 and $80, depending on experience.

You will develop prompts, grading rubrics, and authentic report artifacts in DoD style, drawing on a background as a former federal contributor and familiarity with WARs, SITREPs, and executive summaries.

Qualifications

• Must have prior federal DoD writing experience.
• Experience producing WARs, SITREPs, and exec summaries.
• Military branch background with diverse roles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with back-office tools like PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop prompts, input artifacts, and golden responses for DoD tasks.
• Create grading guidelines to evaluate AI outputs per DoD standards.
• Produce authentic report artifacts reflecting DoD style and language.
• Contribute to design/review of test materials evaluating AI capabilities.
• Engage in feedback cycles to refine prompts, responses, and rubrics.
