Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Data Engineer to support SITEC-3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance at Camp H.M. Smith, HI. The role focuses on building and maintaining comprehensive data ingestion pipelines, edge processing solutions, and standardized tagging schemas to enable advanced threat hunting and compliance reporting.

You will implement and optimize data routing, ensure secure transport paths, and collaborate with architects to deliver high-fidelity telemetry while controlling licensing costs.

Qualifications

• 12+ years with HS degree / 10+ with AS/AA / 8+ with BS/BA / 6+ with MS/MA
• DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 451 by 1 Oct 26
• Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance
• Experience operating within DoD enterprise network environments
• Knowledge of DoD Zero Trust Strategy and data analytics pillars
• Experience with data onboarding, tagging schemas, and CIM mappings
• Ability to engineer edge processing for data filtering and transformation
• Ability to design encrypted, highly available transport paths (Syslog/HEC)
• Experience with data reduction strategies to manage licensing costs

Responsibilities

• Engineer data onboarding pipelines to ingest telemetry into the enterprise deployment
• Implement and optimize Universal/Heavy Forwarders and Edge Processors for edge data management
• Design standardized data tagging and CIM mappings for security tool readiness
• Develop custom add-ons to parse and enrich non-standard mission data
• Troubleshoot data parsing, event breaking, and time-stamping issues
• Collaborate with enterprise architects to ensure secure, encrypted transport
• Create data routing solutions across platforms (TAK, TRAX, Compass, CDS, MSS)
• Maintain technical documentation: data flows, ingestion matrices, taxonomy schemas
