Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Contracts Specialist to deliver full-spectrum contracting services, from pre-award through post-award, supporting DoD and USAF requirements at Langley AFB and related sites. The role emphasizes mentorship, compliance with FAR and related regulations, and proactive contract management.

Qualifications include eight years in contracting, a BA/BS or MA/MS degree, APDP/DAWIA certification, and strong communication skills. A government-cleared candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum eight years of pre-award, award, and post-award contracting experience.
• DAWIA/APDP Contracting certification or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with procurement software including CON-IT, KTFS, IRAPT/PIEE, and internet resources.

Responsibilities

• Support F-22 FTU Beddown and Langley AFB/Fort Eustis projects as required leadership dictates.
• Provide Contract Management Support aligned with FAR and DoD/USA F/MS supplements.
• Mentorship & Training, Contract Review Committee involvement, and related duties.
• Post-award administration, contract files management, and performance monitoring.
• Prepare negotiations inputs, assist with award actions, and ensure regulatory clearances.
