Job summary

SciTec, a Firefly Aerospace Company, is seeking a System Security Architect for our Boulder, CO office. The role focuses on designing security controls across domains to protect computing systems from external, insider, and supply chain threats.

Collaboration with software, procurement, and information assurance teams is essential. The ideal candidate has current DoD/DoE clearance, 5+ years in cybersecurity or related roles, and strong PKI/cryptographic familiarity.

Qualifications

• Current SECRET DoD or DoE clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience (8 years).
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a cybersecurity role or a technical role supporting system security.
• Familiarity with PKI and cryptographic systems to support digital signatures and encryption in transit.
• Familiarity with network service access control mechanisms including firewalls and zero-trust architectures.
• Experience with log collection, SEIM, and SOAR.

Responsibilities

• Structured threat modeling leveraging ATT&CK, STRIDE, MRAP-C; identify risks and attack paths.
• Recommend design architectures and security controls to mitigate risks.
• Support development and procurement teams in implementing controls.
• Demonstrate alignment of controls to regulatory and accreditation requirements (GRC).
• Mentor staff and improve cybersecurity processes within SciTec teams.
• Additional duties as assigned.
