Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to support a DoD R&D office in Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on budget planning, funds execution tracking, PPBE-informed analysis, and integrating financial planning with program milestones.

The ideal candidate has a DoD background, an active TS/SCI clearance, 10+ years in DoW operations, and hands-on experience with PowerBI and MS Project to track funding and schedules. This role offers a path of growth within a world-class team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, mathematics or similar area required.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• 10+ years supporting DoW operations and/or programs.
• Skills in PowerBI and/MS Project for tracking funding and execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide program control and financial management expertise for a fast-paced DoW R&D office.
• Support the Program Manager in overseeing budget formulation, financial execution, and resource tracking.
• Leads program control activities, developing and managing comprehensive financial execution plans, spend plans, and budget baselines.
• Monitors contract funding status, tracks obligations and disbursements, and performs financial variance analysis to identify and resolve shortfalls.
• Analyzes contractor cost reports and schedule performance metrics to assess program health and forecast estimates at completion.
• Supports development of budget justification documents and inputs for the POM cycle.
• Participates in project reviews and coordinates with technical boards on decisions with broad program impact.
• Maintains cognizance of financial and acquisition processes across development, production, and test phases.
