Job summary

US Immediate Office of the Chief of Naval Operations seeks a GS-11 Accountant with deep knowledge of GAAP, USSGL, and DoD/Federal accounting standards. The role requires hands-on Navy ERP (SAP-based) experience to extract, analyze, and reconcile complex financial data across the full accounting cycle.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in accounting and financial management.
• Knowledge of GAAP, USSGL, and federal financial management standards.
• Hands-on experience with Navy ERP (SAP-based) to extract, analyze, and reconcile complex financial data across the full accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Financial Management Systems – Utilize integrated federal financial management systems to extract data, identify and resolve issues, and maintain data integrity.
• Financial Stewardship – Manage, allocate and monitor financial resources with appropriate internal controls and transparency.
• Problem Solving – Identify and analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and make timely recommendations balancing mission and stakeholder interests.
• Financial Concept Policy and Principles – Apply fiscal laws, policies, and standards to financial management activities.
• Financial Reporting – Prepare, review and reconcile financial statements and reports to support management decisions.
