Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Software Engineer 1 to join the DNS Products team. You will write control plane software, develop APIs, troubleshoot customer experience issues, and own parts of the product end-to-end.

The role emphasizes quality, performance, and reliability in a fast-paced cloud environment. You will work with Go, Kubernetes, Docker and related tools, collaborating across teams to deliver scalable services.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing high-performance distributed systems with APIs and databases.
• Experience deploying and operating Linux (Ubuntu) based hosts.
• Experience with Go programming language and unit tests.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple teams to build API contracts.
• Familiarity with cloud development, containerization, and virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test and optimize new services and tools at scale.
• Collaborate with Networking to build next-gen products for developers.
• Support existing products and provide creative solutions to pain points.
• Improve tooling and processes to ship robust, mission-critical components.
• Establish best practices for development and architecture; use Go, gRPC, and related tech.
