Job summary

FedEx is seeking a District Engineer/Operations Planner to advise, plan, and design district engineering and operational plans for efficiency across facilities. The role leverages knowledge of dock systems (Vision, ISS/ISSC) and capacity planning to forecast needs and drive cost savings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s with extensive experience in transportation/logistics/engineering.
• Experience with MS Office software and web-based applications.
• Experience with Business Objects and Power BI.
• Strong Verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex information.
• Ability to present and facilitate training or informational sessions.
• Oversee dock operational systems for optimization and ensure service.
• Develop staffing plans and positional standards to optimize local districts.
• Evaluate logistical flow to optimize sortation and service.

Responsibilities

• Advise and plan district engineering/operational plans to optimize efficiency.
• Collaborate with managers to monitor adherence to plans and root-cause deficiencies.
• Develop and implement action plans and support training efforts.
• Act as change agent to align and optimize engineering/operational plans.
• Identify gaps in SQI metrics and train teams on processes and upgrades.
• Forecast labor and project manning needs for current and future periods.
• Develop labor standards to minimize labor hours and costs.
• Produce monthly operational plans outlining required resources.
