Job summary

General Dynamics - IT seeks a Lead Distribution Systems Engineer to oversee OSP/ISP, fiber optic, and telecom infrastructure efforts on a DoD/federal program. The role requires directing cross‑disciplinary teams, coordinating base access, schedules, and labor while ensuring compliance with AF/SF standards and related guidelines.

You will serve as the primary engineering liaison to government POCs and base stakeholders, drive design reviews, and mitigate installation challenges.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent required.
• 10+ years telecom engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise OSP/ISP, fiber optic, and comm closet engineers.
• Manage Agency and Subcontractor labor with direction, QA and oversight.
• Serve as liaison to Government POCs and base stakeholders.
• Coordinate base access, installation schedules, materials, and personnel.
• Validate drawings, inputs, reports, and risk assessments.
• Lead design reviews and DS workstreams.
• Identify and mitigate risks, design conflicts, and installation challenges.
• Support leadership with planning, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Maintain knowledge of AF/SF standards, TIA/EA, UFC, I3A, OSP/ISP, fiber tech.
