KDM Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Distribution Engineer in Chesterbrook, PA for a hybrid, full-time role. You will lead distribution projects, guide teams, and ensure safe, reliable engineering solutions for utility clients.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in distribution design, client-facing work, and mentoring engineers, with a focus on quality and constructibility. This is a key position within KDM's growing Pennsylvania operations.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (preferred).
• PE license preferred.
• 8+ years minimum in distribution design.
• Knowledge of PPL Electric Utilities standards and distribution design practices preferred.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
• Ability to interface effectively with clients, employees, and management.
• Motivated to take on more responsibility and lead the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead distribution engineering projects and project teams.
• Coordinate project activities with internal team members.
• Perform QA design reviews and peer reviews for project documents.
• Mentor project team members.
• Assist in the preparation of scoping documents and fees.
• Prepare and review TED drawings.
• Resolve design questions and technical concerns.

Senior Distribution Engineer

Chesterbrook, PA| Hybrid | Full-time

KDM Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Distribution Engineer to join our growing team in Pennsylvania. In this role, you’ll lead distribution engineering projects, provide technical guidance across project teams, and help deliver safe, reliable, and constructible engineering solutions for our utility clients.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned distribution engineering professional who enjoys both hands-on technical work and leadership. You’ll work on challenging projects, collaborate directly with clients, mentor developing engineers, and play an important role in strengthening KDM’s growing distribution capabilities in Pennsylvania.

What You’ll Do

• Leads projects and project team in the execution of several mid-to-large scale projects
• Communicates and coordinates project activities with internal team members
• Perform Quality Assurance (QA) design reviews and Peer Reviews for all project documents
• Performs peer reviews and mentors project team members
• Assists in the preparation of scoping documents and fees
• Prepares and reviews project drawings in TED
• Resolves design questions and technical concerns
• Provides excellent client/customer service

What We’re Looking For

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Preferred
• P.E. Preferred
• 8 years minimum of experience with Distribution Design, experience preferred
• Knowledge of PPL Electric Utilities standards and distribution design practices is preferred.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards
• Ability to interface effectively with clients, employees, and management team is essential
• Motivated to continually take on more responsibility and lead the team

Salary range: $110,000 - $140,000 per year
