Censys is hiring a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to build scalable, real-time services across our data platform. You will work on data pipelines, databases, and cloud-native services that power internal APIs and customer-facing tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems.
• Experience with Go and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with message queues (Kinesis, Pub/Sub, Kafka).
• Experience with databases (BigTable, Cloud Spanner, HBase, Cassandra).
• Understanding of scalability, fault tolerance and reliability.
• Familiarity with AI concepts and using AI to improve work.
• Ability to write readable, well-tested code and collaborate with others.
• Strong communication with engineers and product managers.

Responsibilities

• Help build large scale, real-time services and applications using big datasets.
• Build tooling and services that support security, research and data platforms.
• Productionize prototypes into reliable internal tools or platform capabilities.
• Participate in planning with engineering and product teams for right solutions.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, messaging systems, databases, caching layers.
• Collaborate with ML engineers and security researchers to improve outcomes.
