Job summary

Banco Santander SA is seeking a Senior Discretionary Portfolio Manager in the United States to design and manage client portfolios across equities, fixed income, and alternatives. You will work with Private Bankers, participate in investment committees, and report strategy and performance to clients.

The role requires deep knowledge of financial markets, fiduciary responsibility, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. A CFA is preferred and English/Spanish fluency is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years related work experience in portfolio management.
• Proven experience managing investment portfolios across markets (incl. SICAVs).
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments, markets, macro indicators.
• Ability to monitor performance, analyze variances, and report results.
• Familiarity with portfolio management systems and CRM tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, structure and manage client portfolios per objectives and policy.
• Monitor portfolios (weekly) and ensure compliance with risk limits.
• Participate in investment committees and report strategy and performance to clients.
• Collaborate with bankers to win/retain clients and craft proposals.
• Contribute to marketing materials and support training for bankers.
