Job summary

Altos Labs in Redwood City seeks a Senior Research Associate to support critical drug discovery projects in its Discovery Pharmacology team. You will execute a wide range of cellular and biochemical assays and contribute to aging/rejuvenation research efforts.

Responsibilities include designing and optimizing assays, data analysis, and presenting findings to project teams, with ~80% bench work and collaboration across the organization.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related discipline with 5+ years in drug discovery/development.
• Expertise in AAV gene therapy cellular transduction assays and genome titration (qPCR/ddPCR).
• Experience with RT-qPCR, ddPCR and protein analysis (Western/ELISA).
• Strong data analysis and application of statistics to bioassays.
• Experience with MSD/HTRF/AlphaLISA/Luminex technologies.
• Hands-on with automation instruments (Bravo, Echo, I.DOT, Digital dispenser).
• Excellent data presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive drug discovery and development projects with the scientific manager.
• Culture and maintain mammalian cells; manage reagents and stocks.
• Design, optimize, automate, execute, and troubleshoot a range of assays.
• Standardize and optimize assay protocols and draft SOPs.
• Document methods, data, and results in ELN with reproducibility.
• Present data at project team meetings to support decisions.
• Approximately 80% of time on benchtop science.
