Job summary

Evolver Inc. is seeking a Senior Discovery Paralegal to support government and corporate clients in Washington, DC. This on-site role requires an active Top Secret clearance with SSBI and extensive discovery/e-discovery experience.

Responsibilities include analyzing requests, locating responsive material, performing privilege reviews, and coordinating with legal teams and FBI personnel to ensure timely, accurate document production and professional client service.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SSBI.
  • 5 years of paralegal experience.
  • 3 years of discovery/e-discovery experience.
  • 2 years performing privilege reviews on litigation support projects.
  • 1 year reviewing privilege on litigation projects involving paper documents and electronic files.
  • 1 year using an eDiscovery review platform (Clearwell, Relativity).
  • 1 year researching and drafting responses to interrogatories.
  • 1 year obtaining documents for document collection and production.
  • 1 year communicating and driving litigation projects forward with clients and/or attorneys.

  • Maintain detailed case notes and enter case information into databases.
  • Provide a high degree of professionalism and customer service in all interactions with DMS customers.
  • Coordinate classification reviews with subject matter experts and FBI personnel.
  • Prepare electronic and/or paper releases for release to customers.
  • Communicate with employees at all levels of the FBI to complete projects.

Senior Discovery Paralegal

includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Analyze and interpret requests from customers
  • Research, locate, and gather material responsive to DMS requests including conducting
  • outreach and informal interviews to respond to document requests and interrogatories
  • Assist in preparation of declarations
  • Scan paper materials to save as an image file (e.g., .PDF)
  • Conduct responsiveness reviews of both ESI and paper materials
  • Conduct legal privilege reviews using Symantec Clearwell, Adobe Pro with Redax, or other document review platforms provided
  • Analyze documents and proficiently apply deletion codes to diverse types of privileged information
  • Review the work of peers for accuracy and provide constructive edits to ensure quality and thoroughness of review and processing
  • Support effective teams to foster teamwork and planning and decision making
  • Organize and maintain accurate records of assigned requests. This includes keeping detailed case notes, utilizing discovery plans, using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and entering case information into appropriate databases
  • Prepare electronic and/or paper releases for release to customers
  • Provide a high degree of professionalism and customer service in all interactions with DMS customers
  • Prioritize and schedule projects to accomplish objectives
  • Coordinate classification reviews with subject matter experts
  • Maintain close collaboration of projects with discovery team members
  • Serve as consultant to government employees regarding privilege application and document production
  • Communicate with employees at all levels of the FBI to complete projects with a high degree of professionalism
  • Provide weekly statuses to management and periodic updates to Assistant General Counsels and other DMS customers
  • Conduct searches of FBI systems and databases to retrieve responsive documents or files (i.e., Sentinel, Internal Policy Office Policy Library and Policy Archives)
Basic Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SSBI.
  • 5 years of paralegal experience
  • 3 years of experience in discovery/ e-discovery
  • 2 years of experience performing privilege and other substantive reviews on litigation support projects.
  • 1 year of experience reviewing electronic and paper materials for privilege on litigation support projects involving paper documents and electronic files.
  • 1 year of experience using an eDiscovery review platform (e.g., Clearwell, Relativity) to accurately identify and redact privileged information.
  • 1 year of experience researching and drafting responses to interrogatories.
  • 1 year of experience obtaining documents for document collection and production.
  • 1 year of experience communicating and driving litigation projects forward with clients and/or attorneys.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7 years of paralegal experience
  • 7 years of experience with discovery/ e-discovery
  • 3 years of experience performing privilege and other substantive reviews on litigation support projects. Comparable combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • 3 years of experience reviewing electronic and paper materials for privilege on litigation support projects involving paper documents and electronic files.
  • 3 years of experience using an eDiscovery review platform (e.g., Clearwell, Relativity) to accurately identify and redact privileged information.
  • 3 years of experience researching and drafting responses to interrogatories.
  • 3 years of experience obtaining documents for document collection and production.
  • 3 years of experience communicating and driving litigation projects forward with clients and/or attorneys.
  • Preferred PLS certificate/ AA
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and coordination.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite Products, document review and file management systems, and imaging.
  • Shall have excellent Microsoft Office skills (specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
