Job summary

SAP seeks a Senior Director, U.S. Government Affairs - Executive Branch in Washington, DC. The role focuses on White House engagement to advocate policies advancing SAP’s enterprise software in the U.S. public sector.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of executive policymaking processes and strong cross-functional collaboration to drive SAP policy priorities in cloud, AI, HCM, and supply chain management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in political science, public policy, law, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of government affairs or public policy experience.
• Extensive experience engaging with the U.S. Executive Branch, including the White House and federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Commerce.
• Experience in the technology sector, particularly with enterprise software and digital transformation, is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to develop and execute federal lobbying strategies and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Craft and execute lobbying strategies focused on civilian federal agencies and White House engagement.
• Develop political and policy strategies to support SAP America's Public Services Civilian business team.
• Build relationships with officials at the White House, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and other key federal agencies.
• Coordinate with U.S. Government Affairs colleagues and lines of business to engage the White House and agencies to pursue executive action.
• Prepare concise briefings and updates for senior leaders; draft memos and briefing materials.
• Represent SAP in industry associations, coalitions, think tank discussions, and other forums to advance company priorities.
