The role recruits and mentors interns, coordinates training, builds cross-lab collaborations, and supports external funding initiatives while advancing the program’s instructional mission.

Qualifications

• PhD in a biomedical research discipline.
• Hands-on research experience across VP&S.
• Experience mentoring or advising trainees.
• Knowledge of research training and compliance (safety, RCR, animal/human-subjects).
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to coordinate across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead undergraduate biomedical research programs connecting Columbia College and Barnard with VP&S labs.
• Recruit and interview prospective interns and match to labs.
• Ensure training completion before placement and mentor interns.
• Organize scientific symposia and assist with fellowships.
• Build dissemination structures and cross-lab collaborations.
• Oversee program budget and events.
• Track placement and outcomes; report to Dean.
• Coordinate with Pathways Programs; engage faculty mentors.
• Support external funding proposals for education.
