Job summary

Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC seeks an Associate Director for Travel & Business Expense to oversee its $100M+ program, ensuring compliant, efficient expense processing and travel management across the enterprise.

You will lead a team, optimize policies, manage vendor relationships, and drive cost-saving initiatives while partnering with finance, procurement, and technology teams in a remote/hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or related field or 7+ years of direct relevant work experience in Accounts Payable or Travel & Business Expense.
• 7+ years of direct relevant work experience in Accounts Payable and Travel & Business Expense, or similar process-driven environments.
• Experience with Workday Financials and travel booking/expense tools (Deem, Concur, etc.) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of travel, business expense, and travel and procurement card programs.
• Interface with travel partners, vendors, and technology providers to optimize processes.
• Develop and implement travel expense policies, training materials, and communications.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax rules, and enterprise policies across domestic and international travel.
• Negotiate contracts with travel providers and collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to optimize costs.
• Monitor travel expense data, identify trends, and drive improvements with KPIs and metrics.
• Lead training for end-users on ERP systems and ensure accurate expense reporting.
• Collaborate with IT to configure systems, audit rules, and process improvements.
• Support audit findings and provide SME guidance on travel and expense governance.
• Mentor and manage a remote team, ensuring high performance and stakeholder satisfaction.
