Job description

Job Description

As Senior Director Transformation - SBGs and Functions at Honeywell Technologies, you will be responsible for translating enterprise priorities into executable plans across Strategic Business Groups (SBGs) and corporate functions in conjunction with the SBG and Functional Transformation leaders. In addition, as this process/governance matures, other functional transformation initiatives will be added to the role. This role accelerates local execution, removes resource, capability, and organisational barriers, and builds sustainable change and execution capability to deliver targeted business outcomes.

Working closely with SBG presidents and leadership teams, functional executives, and enterprise transformation partners, you will align transformation agendas, mobilise cross‑functional teams, and establish the governance, operating rhythms, and performance mechanisms required to move priorities from strategy through adoption and value realisation.

You will report directly to the VP Enterprise Transformation and work from our Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, or Houston, TX location on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Transformation Leadership
  • Lead enterprise‑wide transformation initiatives that support strategic business priorities and long‑term growth objectives.
  • Define and execute transformation roadmaps that align people, process, technology, and operating models.
  • Drive business process simplification, standardisation, and optimisation across corporate functions.
  • Establish governance structures, decision‑making frameworks, and performance management mechanisms to ensure successful programme delivery.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for productivity improvement, cost optimisation, and organisational effectiveness.
Functional & SBG Transformation Leadership
  • Translate enterprise priorities into SBG and functional transformation plans with clear outcomes, milestones, ownership, and success measures.
  • Partner with SBG and functional leaders to tailor enterprise transformation priorities to local business needs while maintaining alignment to enterprise direction.
  • Develop governance to drive local execution and adoption of transformation initiatives across functions, businesses, and geographies.
  • Integrate people, process, technology, data, and operating‑model changes into cohesive execution roadmaps.
  • Ensure transformation initiatives achieve targeted business outcomes and establish mechanisms to sustain performance.
Execution Acceleration & Barrier Removal
  • Identify and remove resource, capability, decision‑making, and organisational barriers that constrain execution.
  • Create transparent escalation paths and decision forums to resolve cross‑functional dependencies and competing priorities.
  • Mobilise the right expertise and capacity across SBGs, functions, and enterprise teams to accelerate delivery.
  • Anticipate execution risks and dependencies and drive timely mitigation with accountable owners.
  • Promote disciplined execution, speed, and accountability across the transformation portfolio.
Transformation Portfolio & Value Realisation
  • Convert strategic priorities into an integrated portfolio of initiatives with clear sequencing, interdependencies, and measurable value.

  • Provide executive‑level visibility into performance, risks, decisions, and value realisation.
Executive Partnership & Influence
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to SBG and functional leaders on transformation strategy, execution, and organisational readiness.
  • Build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and resolve tension between enterprise standards and local priorities.
  • Facilitate structured decision‑making and drive shared accountability across matrixed teams.
  • Communicate complex transformation topics in a clear, concise, and action‑oriented manner.
Change Leadership & Sustainable Capability
  • Build sustainable change and execution capability within SBGs and functions rather than relying on temporary programme structures.
  • Equip leaders and teams with practical transformation methods, tools, and routines that strengthen local ownership.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, change planning, and adoption strategies for impacted organisations.
  • Establish mechanisms to measure adoption, capability maturity, employee engagement, and business impact.
  • Capture and scale proven practices across SBGs and functions to improve future transformation performance.
Operational Excellence & Digital Enablement
  • Advance operating‑model maturity through process simplification, standardisation, and capability development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, cost, quality, speed, and service delivery.
  • Leverage automation, analytics, AI, and digital capabilities where they directly enable business outcomes.
  • Apply relevant external benchmarks and internal best practices to improve transformation design and execution.
Leadership
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and results‑oriented culture.
  • Influence and lead through both direct authority and matrixed relationships.
  • Model accountability, enterprise thinking, constructive challenge, and a bias for action.
Qualifications
You Must Have
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise transformation, management consulting, strategy execution, operational excellence, programme leadership, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success leading large‑scale enterprise transformation initiatives across multiple functions.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders and leading complex cross‑functional programmes.
