Job summary

BlackLine is seeking a Senior Director of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting in Los Angeles to lead the company’s accounting and external reporting efforts. This role requires acting as the subject-matter expert for US GAAP and SEC filings while guiding finance through ongoing transformation initiatives.

You will own technical accounting positions, drive the external reporting calendar, and partner with auditors, FP&A, and Legal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with Big 4 and in-house technical accounting/external reporting.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting; ability to draft technical memos.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to authority on complex accounting matters (ASC 606, business combinations, stock-based compensation, leases).
• Own the preparation and review of external financial reporting deliverables (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and disclosures.
• Monitor new accounting standards and lead adoption and implementation.
• Partner with external auditors and internal audit; support SOX compliance.
