Job description

Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress.

Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world. But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained. We’re changing that.

Atoms builds Physical AI — real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, more scalable, and more productive.

This work requires more than robotics. It requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate. We don’t just build machines in a lab. We deploy them into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale.

We are roboticists, engineers, operators, and builders. We believe the next great technology companies will not only transform information, but the physical systems that shape everyday life.

If you want to work on hard problems with real-world impact, join us.

What you’ll do
  • Serve as Atoms' subject-matter expert on technical accounting, providing proactive guidance on complex transactions, acquisitions, new business initiatives, commercial arrangements, and other non-routine activities
  • Lead the research, evaluation, and documentation of accounting conclusions under U.S. GAAP, including the preparation of clear, concise, and defensible technical accounting memoranda
  • Partner with Controllership, Legal, Corporate Development, Strategic Finance, Tax, Treasury, business leaders, and external auditors to assess the accounting implications of strategic and operational decisions
  • Monitor emerging accounting guidance, evaluate its impact on the company, and lead the implementation of new accounting standards and company-wide accounting policies
  • Translate complex accounting matters into practical recommendations for senior leadership, while helping strengthen technical accounting capabilities across the broader organization
What we're looking for
  • CPA required
  • 12+ years of experience
  • Big 4 experience, with national office experience
  • In-house experience is a plus, but not required
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to independently research, evaluate, and resolve complex or judgmental accounting matters
  • Ability to understand the economics of acquisitions, investments, financings, commercial arrangements, and new business initiatives, and to determine the appropriate accounting treatment
  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and defensible accounting memoranda and explain complex conclusions to executives, operators, Legal, and external auditors
  • Comfort partnering proactively with Controllership, Finance, Tax, Legal, Corporate Development, and business teams, while maintaining strong technical standards and independence
  • Track record monitoring emerging guidance, establishing company-wide accounting policies, and ensuring consistent implementation across businesses and geographies
