Job summary

NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP seeks a Senior Director of System Operations to lead substation and meter operations, and program execution. You will drive safety, reliability, and cost-effective resource allocation while guiding staff development and daily field operations.

Reporting to Avangrid, you will coordinate with state and municipal agencies, manage budgets, and oversee major projects to ensure CAPEX is aligned with local needs and corporate goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with significant experience.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience; supervisory/management experience required.
• Change management and organizational management knowledge; budgeting exposure.
• Strong knowledge of electric maintenance delivery practices and policies.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements annual business plan for O&M and capital budgets.
• Oversees work processes, drives process improvements, and fosters innovation.
• Ensure safe and efficient Emergency preparedness and restoration efforts.
• Manage department budgets, track expenditures, and report performance.
• Set employee goals aligned with department and corporate objectives.
• Represent the company on teams/committees and coordinate with agencies.
