Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Sr Director, Business Development - Surety to drive profitable growth for the National Bond Center Small Commercial Surety West Team. The role leads strategy, partners with regional underwriting, and deepens relationships with key agents and large accounts.

You will oversee underwriting processes, guide senior staff, participate in budget forecasting, and align sales with enterprise goals.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience in surety and fidelity products.
• Ability to lead regional underwriting strategies and growth.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Conducts detailed research on surety underwriting market segments to help make policy and practice decisions.
• Gathers information from multiple sources to perform underwriting analysis and drive growth.
• Evaluates the largest and most complex underwriting risks in the assigned market segment.
• Prepares files for review by Surety officer for accounts outside of NSF authority limits.
• Manages underwriting processes of regional office staff and seeks efficiency gains.
• Supports annual production goals by region and state and participates in budget forecasting.
