Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Senior Director, Business Development - Surety to lead profitable growth for the National Bond Center West team and set strategy with regional underwriting partners. Travel may be required as part of relationship building.

You will guide underwriting processes, develop market expansion plans, and collaborate with sales, agents and leadership to achieve enterprise goals.

Qualifications

• Ten years’ experience in surety underwriting with at least five years in management or consultancy roles preferred.
• Active pursuit of insurance certifications (AFSB, CPCU or related) is desirable.
• Knowledge of commercial surety & fidelity products, rating and related functions.

Responsibilities

• Conducts market research and informs policy decisions for the surety underwriting market.
• Manages underwriting processes and guides regional office staff for efficiency and profitability.
• Develops and implements marketing plans; deepens relationships with agents and large accounts.
