The Senior Director of Supply Chain is a key operational leader responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all supply chain activities across our clients North American business. This role oversees demand planning, procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution to ensure uninterrupted product availability, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective operations. The Senior Director will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive supply chain efficiency and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Supply Chain Management

• Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with company goals for growth, service, quality, and cost.
• Optimize the end-to-end supply network to support internal manufacturing and external partners (CMOs/CDMOs).
• Drive integrated business planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
• Oversee sourcing, negotiation, and management of key supplier and third-party manufacturing relationships.
• Ensure vendor qualification, contract compliance, and risk mitigation across all supplier tiers.
• Develop a robust supplier performance evaluation program to ensure quality and delivery standards.

Demand & Supply Planning

• Lead demand forecasting, capacity planning, and supply alignment processes across the organization.
• Collaborate with commercial, finance, and manufacturing to ensure accurate projections and effective response to demand fluctuations.

Logistics & Distribution

• Manage global and domestic logistics, warehousing, and cold-chain distribution networks.
• Ensure compliance with GDP (Good Distribution Practices) and regulatory requirements in all markets served.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives in transportation, warehousing, and freight while maintaining high service levels.

Inventory & Materials Management

• Monitor and optimize inventory levels to minimize working capital while avoiding stockouts or obsolescence.
• Implement inventory control procedures and cycle count programs.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Leverage ERP systems and supply chain analytics to improve visibility, decision-making, and responsiveness.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing supply chain team.
• Foster a collaborative culture of accountability, innovation, and process excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10–15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain leadership within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
• Deep knowledge of cGMP, GDP, FDA, and global regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing CMOs, raw material suppliers, and third-party logistics providers.
• Proven ability to develop and implement strategic supply chain initiatives in a complex, regulated environment.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
