PlanSource is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships with a strong background in benefit administration and insurance carrier relationships. This role will be responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives to build, expand, and maintain key partnerships within Boost, our carrier integration program. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in insurance carrier management, benefit administration, and partnership development, along with a proven ability to drive growth and innovation.

The Senior Director will be responsible for driving high-impact relationships with insurance carriers, and other industry stakeholders to enhance service offerings, improve operational efficiencies, and deliver innovative solutions for our customers. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, legal, and product development, to ensure the successful execution of partnership strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with assigned insurance carrier partners to ensure program awareness, smooth operational processes, and understanding of the value Boost provides.
  • Identify, develop, and nurture high-value strategic relationships with key stakeholders at each partner, and any other relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead partnership negotiations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute long-term partnership strategies to enhance offerings, expand market reach, and increase revenue.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Boost carrier partners for brokers and clients for escalated service and other process concerns.
  • Understand partner needs to recommend solutions from PlanSource’s full suite of enrollment technology and service capabilities to increase growth.
  • Explore Integration pathways for partners within PlanSource’s platform, drawing from a broad spectrum of Product offerings and working with our internal Product and Tech team to roadmap Integrations.
  • Represent partner interests internally, ensuring their needs and goals are understood and met to the best of our ability.
  • Establish and maintain a market presence by participating in industry forums, collaborating with peers, and cultivating market relationships.
  • Oversee the partner sales pipeline and prospect lists to understand large mutual opportunities and help the sales team drive engagement.
  • Work with Direct, Reseller and HCM channels to drive engagement and understanding of our carrier business to increase engagement throughout each channel.
  • Join customer and broker meetings with internal partners to aid the sales and/or discovery process.
  • Build and manage the delivery of stewardship meetings with carriers on a quarterly basis.
  • Regularly monitor partnership performance and provide reports highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Identify potential risks in partnership agreements and develop mitigation strategies to ensure long-term stability and success.

About You

Necessary Strengths, Skills, and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of benefit administration processes and insurance carrier structures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, assess competitive landscapes, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experienced in representing products in a consultative manner, leveraging market trends and data.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office tools and other CRM software.
  • Experience: 7+ years in sales or partner management, preferably with a background in benefits administration, software, or the insurance industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Preferred but not required. Equal job experience if bachelor’s degree has not been obtained.
