Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Senior Director of Corporate Development to drive inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, reinsurance, and strategic partnerships. The role leads complex transactions from evaluation through negotiation and integration, advising senior leadership and governing bodies with clear, executive-ready recommendations.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in office weekly at hub locations (Cedar Rapids, Denver, Philadelphia).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or related field.
• 12+ years in transaction execution, corporate development, or related leadership roles.
• Experience leading complex transactions from evaluation through execution and transition.
• Strong financial analysis, valuation, accounting, and business judgment.
• Ability to influence executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proven project management and execution discipline.
• High integrity, discretion, professionalism, and relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead M&A, divestitures, reinsurance, strategic investments and partnerships.
• Build opportunity pipeline by formulating investment theses and cultivating relationships.
• Assess opportunities for strategic fit, financial impact, regulatory considerations, and risks.
• Drive complex transactions from evaluation to negotiation, approval, and transition.
• Oversee valuation, financial analysis and return frameworks for capital allocation.
• Advise senior leadership and Boards with executive-ready recommendations.
• Align cross-functional teams around rationale, due diligence results and decisions.
• Represent the company with advisors, reinsurers, and industry partners.
• Guide integration, separation, and value-capture planning.
• Develop Corporate Development team capabilities and execution discipline.
