Job summary

District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) seeks a Senior Director, STEM to lead DCPS Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) STEM work streams. The role partners with the Deputy Chief of Content and Curriculum to align PD, curricular resources, and school supports with district priorities and LEAP initiatives.

The Senior Director will manage multiple school-based supports, drive equitable STEM outcomes, and oversee implementation across models, ensuring rapid, scalable impact on student learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six to eight years of related work experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience teaching in the classroom or operating in an administrative position in the education industry.

Responsibilities

• Defines the connection between key OTL priorities and Content & Curriculum division workstreams, as it relates to STEM.
• Supports the Deputy Chief in determining goals and benchmarks for success for key division workstreams; monitors progress.
• Leads Content Directors within STEM and collaborates with other content leads to ensure coordination and integration.
• Works with school leaders to assess needs of core content area teachers and LEAP Leaders; oversees PD opportunities.
• Leverages content expertise to align guidance, PD plans, school supports and curricular resources.
• Creates detailed timelines for initiatives and drives progress with accountability.
• Helps manage data analysis and progress reporting for senior leadership and external audiences.
• Manages a team of directors who lead PD, assessments, and curriculum design.
