Job summary

Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, State Government Affairs (Head) to lead state advocacy initiatives in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on developing and executing strategies that advance business objectives, improve patient access, and shape favorable public policy outcomes.

You will partner with executives and cross-functional teams, monitor legislative developments, and manage campaigns with policymakers and external partners. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Law degree preferred.
• 7+ years of government affairs experience at local, state or federal level.
• Understanding of legislative processes and budget processes.
• Expert skills in research, evaluating and interpreting complex information.
• Ability to influence Senior level government officials and stakeholders.
• Role requires travel up to 50% and is based in Washington, D.C. market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute state advocacy strategies aligned with business objectives and public policy priorities.
• Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify advocacy priorities.
• Monitor legislative developments and provide strategic guidance on risks and opportunities.
• Lead state-based advocacy campaigns influencing legislative, regulatory, and reimbursement environments.
• Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, governors, legislators, and stakeholder groups.
• Represent Ferring's interests before state government officials and external organizations.
• Prepare policy communications, briefing documents, and testimony for policy engagements.
• Manage external consultants and lobbying partners to support advocacy initiatives.
• Deliver policy insights to inform business decisions and patient access objectives.
