Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Solution Architect specializing in AI-oriented, compliant digital systems for Medical Affairs. You will establish architectural blueprints, govern integration across Veeva Salesforce ecosystems, and mentor cross-functional teams globally.

You will lead design of multilingual AI solutions with region-specific compliance, oversee CI/CD for LLM pipelines, and communicate strategically with VP and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in IT, systems architecture, or digital engineering.
  • 8+ years as a hands-on, working Solution Architect.
  • Experience designing AI-oriented solutions, including LLMs, RAG, or agentic systems.
  • Experience with complex data integrations.
  • Experience leading and mentoring UX, Scrum, or Engineering professionals.
  • Experience coordinating matrixed engineering resources.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to VP-level and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated diplomacy, negotiation, and matrix-management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/NLP/LLM implementations and LLMOps/AIOps pipelines.
  • Deep expertise in modern cloud architecture, AWS or Azure, and API-first design.
  • Practical understanding of Veeva CRM and the Salesforce ecosystem, including Life Sciences Cloud and/or Marketing Cloud.
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer.
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States required.
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a technical or business-related field.
  • Preferred: 5+ years in Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical.
  • Preferred: Experience with Medical Affairs operations, Field Medical/MSL activity, and digital HCP engagement.
  • Preferred: Experience collaborating with Therapeutic Area leaders, Field Medical executives, or Medical Affairs teams.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with GxP, FDA regulation, software validation, MLR processes, GDPR, HIPAA, and global data privacy standards.
  • Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Salesforce Certified System/Application Architect, or AI Engineering/Architecture credentials.
  • Preferred: Agile/Scrum and Design Thinking experience.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, govern, and enforce architectural blueprints, integration frameworks, and technology standards across Medical Affairs digital systems globally.
  • Serve as primary solution architect for high-priority enterprise platforms, defining and documenting solution approaches and component design.
  • Partner with Product Owners and Engineering leadership to translate business capabilities into resilient target-state architectures.
  • Ensure designs comply with GxP, HIPAA, GDPR, AI ethics, and compliance frameworks.
  • Drive integration across Veeva CRM, PromoMats, Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Design and prototype autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents, multi-agent workflows, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Architect multilingual, regionally compliant AI solutions across divergent regulatory boundaries.
  • Establish environment strategy, ALM, and CI/CD pipelines for LLM solutions; oversee model tuning, RAG pipelines, and vector database management.
  • Implement AI telemetry for model and agent performance, token usage, drift, and latency; design protections against prompt injection and enforce data access controls.
  • Embed Responsible AI standards, hallucination guardrails, bias monitoring, and global AI regulation alignment into technical designs.
  • Translate technical architecture into value-driven strategy for VP-level and executive audiences.
  • Align platform teams around a unified architectural vision and arbitrate stakeholder disagreements.
  • Co-develop business cases for multi-million-dollar technology investments and conduct ROI/TCO analysis.
  • Co-lead RFIs, RFPs, and vendor assessments.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural, data-governance, and compliance risks.
  • Directly manage a UX Designer and Scrum Master, including objectives, coaching, performance, and career growth.
  • Lead a Medical Affairs technical community of practice.
  • Integrate UX and Agile/Scrum methodology into solution architecture.
  • Govern architectural output from engineers and external systems integrators.
