Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Senior Director of Self-Pay and Cash Management to lead strategic operations across Cash Management, Self-Pay, and related Revenue Cycle activities. This executive will drive performance, compliance, and process improvements while coordinating with Finance, Compliance, and operational leaders.

The role requires extensive healthcare revenue cycle experience, leadership, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field; 10+ years in hospital/healthcare environment; at least 8 years in a major healthcare system or consulting firm.
• Master's degree strongly preferred; advanced healthcare certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for key Revenue Cycle functions.
• Oversee Cash Management, including posting, remittance, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage Self-Pay portfolio: Patient Account Services, Financial Assistance, collections, and vendor partnerships.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Compliance, and Operations to drive performance and process improvements.
• Develop strategies to improve patient engagement, financial access, and account resolution.
• Lead back-end customer service operations to support patient financial journeys.
