Build Your Future With Us

The digitization of tax compliance is fundamentally changing global commerce and how businesses need to operate and grow. Governments now have real-time visibility into business data, creating new challenges and new opportunities for organizations around the world. At Sovos, we're transforming tax compliance from a business requirement into a driver of growth through AI-powered technology that delivers the accurate, real-time insights businesses needs to make smarter decisions.

We're solving more than today's tax compliance challenges. We're helping reshape global economies by enabling organizations to navigate increasingly complex and rapidly changing regulatory environments with confidence – and helping communities thrive.

AI is accelerating what's possible, enabling tax and technology professionals to more effectively drive critical regulatory decisions. That's where Sovos excels, combining intelligent technology with human expertise to help customers stay ahead of change.

We're focused on what you can do, not just what's on your resume. If you're excited about this role and believe you can deliver impact, we want to hear from you. We're focused on hiring great people, not perfect resumes. It's less about what you've done elsewhere and more about what you're capable of doing here.

The Role

At Sovos, we're building the future of regulatory intelligence, where understanding what the law means is just as critical as knowing what it says. As our Regulatory and Industry Intelligence Lead, you'll translate regulatory change into business impact, equipping our product, marketing, and government relations teams with the foresight and context they need to stay ahead. This isn't about tracking compliance in isolation; it's about connecting the dots across sectors, systems, and supply chains so Sovos remains the trusted voice in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

More specifically, you will:

  • Equip product management with comprehensive regulatory, industry, and market intelligence to inform product strategy and roadmaps, grounding your analysis in direct customer engagement through workshops, advisory boards, and panels.
  • Build and maintain an AI-enabled regulatory graph that surfaces Sovos's full regulatory knowledge quickly and precisely for any internal or external need, leveraging AI tools to continuously improve speed and usability.
  • Own the domain's thought leadership by authoring forward-looking publications, solution blueprints, and implementation guidance, and by evangelizing in industry forums so Sovos is the first reference for analysts, press, and government contacts.
  • Feed marketing the regulatory narratives, inflection points, and intelligence it needs for campaigns and content, sequencing messaging with regulatory trajectories rather than isolated events.
  • Engage with governments and industry bodies to establish Sovos as a trusted adviser, influencing regulatory direction while bringing early intelligence on interpretation and intent back into our products and messaging.
  • Translate regulatory insights into internal education programs, building cross-functional literacy so teams think in regulatory context, not just compliance checkboxes.
  • Monitor the expansion of regulation into business processes once left to free choice, ensuring each development becomes a product strength and a competitive advantage.

What You Bring to Sovos

  • You've built deep expertise in regulatory analysis, policy intelligence, or a related field, with a track record of translating complex regulatory change into business impact.
  • You're fluent in engaging with government bodies, industry associations, and senior stakeholders, and you've established yourself as a trusted voice in regulatory or policy circles.
  • You have demonstrated experience collaborating with product management and marketing teams, translating technical or regulatory content into clear, actionable guidance and narratives.
  • You're comfortable with AI-assisted workflows and have experience (or strong curiosity) building knowledge systems, taxonomies, or similar structures that make complex information accessible and actionable.
  • You're a confident writer and speaker, capable of authoring thought leadership, leading forums, and educating internal teams on complex regulatory topics.
  • Deep expertise in law, public policy, business, or a related field — whether from formal education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire.
