Job summary

The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates seeks a Senior Director of Regulatory Advocacy to lead policy engagement with federal and state agencies, lawmakers, and regulators. You will steer strategy, analyze legislation, draft testimony, and collaborate with national partners to advance credit union interests.

The role requires travel up to 50% across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, and beyond, with a focus on effective advocacy and regulatory outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, or related field.
  • JD from an accredited law school is a plus.
  • Five years of experience in legislative affairs, regulatory advocacy, public policy, or compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Represent The League before state and federal agency officials, building trusted relationships across political parties.
  • Monitor and analyze federal legislation, hearings, and regulatory proposals to identify threats and opportunities.
  • Review proposed bills and provide analysis of credit union impact to state lobbyists and member credit unions.
  • Draft policy briefs, position statements, and testimony on federal issues such as CFPB rulemakings, NCUA regulations, and IRS matters.
  • Coordinate with national trade associations and federal partners to align messaging and strengthen industry-wide influence.
  • Support development and execution of state-level advocacy strategies across The League’s footprint.
