Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center is seeking an experienced Radiology leader to direct IR, Breast Imaging, and US modalities across the system. You will drive clinical and operational excellence, collaborate with site leadership, and implement improvements to deliver high-quality, cost-effective radiology services.

The role requires strong clinical and managerial experience, with a focus on safety, accreditation, and staff development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years clinical experience.
  • Minimum 7 years managerial/supervisory experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT CT, CNMT, ARRT Radiology Technologist, ARDMS.

Responsibilities

  • Provides system-wide direction of daily clinical and business operations for assigned modalities.
  • Establishes goals and expectations for areas of oversight.
  • Lead process improvement activities to enhance efficiency, patient safety and quality.
  • Ensure alignment with American College of Radiology guidelines to maintain AC R Accreditation.
  • Oversee procurement, staffing, and staff competency standards in radiology.

Job Summary: IR, Breast Imaging, and US modalities system wide. Responsible for directing the technical operations of assigned modalities across the system. Works in partnership with inpatient, outpatient, ED and other Service Line site leadership to help achieve system and site mission, vison, and strategic goals. Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in Radiology to deliver high-quality cost-effective radiology services.

Job Duties:

  • Provides system-wide direction of the daily clinical and business operations for assigned modalities in the pursuit of safe and efficient clinical operational excellence.
  • Establishes goals and expectations for areas of oversight
  • Analyzes productivity reports and develops action plans against benchmarks and goals.
  • Reduce barriers to staff accomplishment of departmental objectives.
  • Continuously assess and manage system resource utilization including staffing, equipment utilization/fill rates, supply chain.
  • Oversees development and sets standards for competency assessment for modalities under oversight
  • Collaborate with faculty, management and staff to establish an environment in which it is both encouraged and expected that staff speak up for safety.
  • Take action to ensure alignment of clinical activities with American College of Radiology guidelines to ensure ongoing ACR Accreditation.
  • Lead process improvement activities to enhance efficiency, patient safety and and quality.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining and continuing to automate processes as applicable.
  • Contribute to long and short term strategic planning and departmental operations improvement.
  • Develop, implement and monitor department specific customer service standards for staff at all levels.
  • Assist in public relations efforts by serving as a departmental representative for groups visiting the medical center.
  • Collect, analyze, and present statistical and other data pertinent to departmental operating and planning discussions.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the radiology medical supply procurement process; evaluate change requests for cost effectiveness and utility.
  • Analyze staffing patterns, overtime and scheduling practices to ensure efficient but effective use resources.
  • Develop and implement capacity and throughput initiatives while maintaining a safety and ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
