Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Research & Development to serve as the company’s senior technical leader overseeing innovation, product development, commercialization, and technical execution across Fresh Pork and Packaged Meats.

The role reports to the VP of Technical Services and directs the R&D organization to drive enterprise innovation, improve yields, and deliver cost savings while aligning with strategic business goals.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Meat Science, Food Science, Animal Science, Food Engineering, Biological Science, or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive Research & Development leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and execute the enterprise R&D strategy aligned with growth objectives and manage the R&D portfolio across initiative areas.
• Own commercialization execution from concept through manufacturing readiness and market launch.
• Provide technical leadership in formulations, ingredients, product functionality, quality systems, shelf life, and processing.
• Lead manufacturing improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across ingredients, packaging, and processes.
• Identify new technologies and partnerships to improve product performance and profitability.
• Lead organizational capability building and talent development across technical teams.
