Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Director of Qualitative Research and Survey Science within PXT Central Science to lead mixed-methods research shaping talent decisions at scale. You will guide qualitative and survey programs, collaborate with quantitative researchers, and deliver actionable findings to senior leaders.

The role requires overseeing a team of researchers and setting high standards for measurement and impact.

Qualifications

Proven track record leading mixed-methods research that informs senior leadership decisions.
10+ years in qualitative and/or survey research, including 5+ years leading research groups.
Ability to design integrated mixed-methods studies and assess research rigor.
Experience guiding teams through managers and mentoring senior scientists.
Strong communication skills for technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

Identify workforce challenges not yet named by senior leaders and pair with quantitative science to form a mixed-methods agenda.
Develop and apply creative, rigorous qualitative and survey approaches to measure changes not captured by quantitative data.
Present findings to senior leaders and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Maintain and elevate the science behind Amazon's employee survey program across PXT, coordinating with leaders.
Provide guidance on qualitative and survey methods to PXT teams to ensure consistent measurement.
Run the practice as an operation, prioritizing work and managing stakeholder portfolios.
Lead through managers to build and grow a team of qualitative researchers and survey scientists.
