Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a Senior Director, Program Management to act as the operational backbone of the Global Program Team, guiding development through regulatory submission, manufacturing, and launch. You’ll embed with Respiratory Diagnosis Expansion 25% of the time and mentor PM talent across geographies.

You will lead critical path planning, governance, risk management, and executive communications for cross-functional programs, partnering with Regulatory, Clinical, and Commercial teams

Qualifications

  • 15+ years progressive Program/Project Management experience in biotech/biopharma.
  • Experience with GPT or equivalent cross-functional program structures in Program-First/matrix models.
  • Experience managing Life Cycle Management activities, Health Authority interactions, and cross-functional launch readiness.
  • Commercial program management exposure (launch readiness, milestone tracking, or market-facing execution).
  • Executive presence; ability to lead through ambiguity and represent the PM function credibly at senior levels.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior operational proxy to the Global Program Head; co-own integrated program strategy and ensure alignment between GPT priorities, functional plans, and corporate/portfolio objectives.
  • Lead GPT facilitation and organizational effectiveness (meeting design, working norms, decision rights, cadence, communication pathways) and champion Program-First mindset.
  • Define/manage critical path activities, integrated timelines, resource plans, and program budgets; identify and resolve cross-functional dependencies and risks.
  • Lead program documentation and risk governance (TPPs, IDPs, IEPs, dashboards, risk assessments, decision logs, version-controlled records).
  • Prepare/present scenario planning and executive communications; own the program narrative for C-suite audiences.
  • Oversee Life Cycle Management and Health Authority submissions (IND, NDA, JNDA, MAA, BLA) with Regulatory Affairs; support launch readiness and milestone tracking.
  • Facilitate governance forums and executive readiness reviews; co-create Executive Committee materials.
  • Support commercial and cross-functional execution for Respiratory Diagnosis Expansion (Advocacy, Medical, Market Access, Commercial, CE).
  • Improve program management operating model/processes, tools, and standards across geographies.
  • Mentor and develop program management talent; strengthen long-term execution capacity.

About the Role

Senior Director, Program Management on the Program Management team. Reporting to the Executive Director, Research & Respiratory Disease Program Management. Serve as a senior strategic leader and operational backbone of the Global Program Team (GPT), ensuring disciplined, integrated execution across the full program lifecycle (development through regulatory submission, manufacturing, and commercial launch). Approximately 25% supports the Respiratory Diagnosis Expansion team as an embedded PM.


What You’ll Do

Who You Are


  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific, medical, or business discipline + 15+ years progressive Program/Project Management experience in biotech/biopharma; senior leadership in global matrix organizations.

  • Track record leading drug programs from early development through commercialization, including regulatory submissions and launches.

  • Experience with GPT or equivalent cross-functional program structures in Program-First/matrix models (including shaping/evolving the operating model).

  • Experience managing LCM activities, Health Authority interactions, and cross-functional launch readiness.

  • Commercial program management exposure (launch readiness, milestone tracking, or market-facing execution).

  • Executive presence; lead through ambiguity and represent programs/PM function credibly at senior levels.


Nice To Have


  • Advanced degree (Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D., MBA); PMP certification.

  • Background in rare disease/respiratory/specialty therapeutics.

  • Tool proficiency: MS Project, Smartsheet, Veeva, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint.


Where You’ll Work

Hybrid role based in Bridgewater, NJ; option to work remotely most of the time.
