Job summary

Amgen Inc. in Thousand Oaks, CA seeks a Senior Director to lead the Process Engineering team within Drug Substance Technologies/Synthetics. The role oversees development, tech transfer, and lifecycle management of synthetic drug substances for early and late-stage portfolios.

You will lead a 30+ person global team, shape strategic execution, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of scientific process development experience.
• 5+ years of direct people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global organization for small molecule/hybrid process engineering.
• Drive technology transfer, lifecycle management, and scale-up for drug substance processes.
• Oversee regulatory filings (IND/INDa/MAA) and compliance.
• Collaborate with CDMOs and external partners to enable clinical and commercial supply.
