Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center seeks an Associate Center Director of Physical & Quantitative Sciences to drive cross-disciplinary research in AI, ML, bioengineering, biostatistics, and bioinformatics for oncology. You will provide strategic vision, scientific leadership, and administrative oversight across Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, IMO, and ML.

The role emphasizes building collaborations, expanding research infrastructure, and advancing cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment

Qualifications

• Leadership in quantitative, computational, bioengineering and/or systems biology oncologic sciences.
• Collaborative research with scientific rigor and multidisciplinary cancer knowledge.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to provide strategic direction and manage complex research support services.
• Mentor and develop faculty, trainees, and staff; build cross-functional teams.
• Ability to engage with senior leaders and other ACDs at high level.
• Strategic thinker who identifies gaps and future opportunities in cancer research.
• Fosters scientific collaboration and a nurturing team culture.
• Experience advancing catchment area-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate four academic departments within Division.
• Appoint Chairs/Vice Chairs; oversee APT Committee; recruit faculty.
• Allocate space and manage faculty needs; strategic research planning.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to set priorities and vision.
• Oversee research informatics and data-driven initiatives.
• Promote dissemination of high-impact research findings.
