Job summary

Wycliffe Bible Translators USA is seeking a Senior Director of Workforce Relations to shepherd staff through workforce experiences as they respond to God’s call and advance Bible translation. You will lead HR policy development, staff relations initiatives and training programs across the ministry in Orlando, with a focus on unity, trust and missional effectiveness.

You will coach leaders, partner with organizational heads, manage performance processes, and oversee supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years in HR, counseling, pastoral ministry, or related fields.
• SHRM-CP certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to support corporate biblical goals and participate in spiritual activities.

As the Senior Director of Workforce Relations, you’ll be responsible for shepherding staff through workforce relations experiences as they realize their call to advance Bible translation. Together with workgroup members and other colleagues, you’ll collaborate to ensure staff and workforce relations are healthy, thriving and flourishing. Additionally, you’ll ensure that systems, processes and communication reflect our organizational and team ethos while remaining responsive to constituents and advancing missional effectiveness.

• Coach leaders in staff care, performance management, reconciliation processes and the delivery of HR training and coaching.
• Partner with other organizational leaders to enhance support staff experiences and ensure excellent support and care.
• Support and resource colleagues and supervisors to effectively engage in and manage staff relations.
• Manage performance management processes with a strong focus on whole-person care, professionalism and effectiveness.
• In alignment with Wycliffe USA policies, lead and participate in conflict management and reconciliation processes that build greater trust, unity and harmony among individuals and teams. Collaborate on child safety efforts, monitoring and responding to any inquiries or allegations that arise.
• Collaborate on efforts and strategies to enhance staff understanding, adoption and demonstration of Wycliffe’s values. Collaborate on the development of HR training and policy orientation resources that increase staff awareness and understanding.
• Coach and support supervisors in applying HR protocols to strengthen staff-supervisor and employer-partner relationships, ensuring they remain strong and resilient.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Workforce Experiences and/or CHRO.
• Partnership Development: Build and retain a team of prayer and financial partners that will sustain them during their entire Wycliffe ministry according to the Wycliffe Partnership Development policy.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Coordinate direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities for 5-7 staff in accordance with the ministry’s policies and applicable laws, including spiritual leadership, mentoring, interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, gathering feedback, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Have a Bachelor’s degree and at five to seven years of experience in human resources, counseling, pastoral ministry, public relations, business or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Have a SHRM-CP certification or must be willing to secure it.
• You demonstrate the desire and ability to support corporate biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work-related spiritual activities without reservation (Spiritual Bona Fide Occupational Qualification).

Compensation

Wycliffe Bible Translators is a faith-based organization, and as supported staff (missionary), you will receive a non-traditional salary (including benefits and ministry expenses) through the faithful giving of your personal partnership team. We provide extensive training and resources as you build your financial and prayer partnership team. Although salaries vary significantly and it's not possible to provide an exact number for this position, a typical non-traditional salary for a missionary household is $44,304 to $81,816 annually.
