Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Data and AI Services organization offers a unique opportunity to contribute to building a critical Oracle Cloud Data Service. You will develop short, medium, and long-term strategic plans, collaborating across functional areas with senior management and executives. Strong communication, attention to detail, multitasking, and leadership skills are essential.

The Senior Director of Engineering in the OCI Data & AI services group will oversee the development, design, operations, planning, forecasting, and execution of a vital Cloud Service. Responsibilities include:

• Setting the technical direction for the Managed Data Platform architecture in collaboration with senior technical leaders.
• Developing strategic plans to meet technical and business goals with various Oracle business groups and customers.
• Driving innovation within OCI data services.
• Managing multiple software engineering teams.
• Building and coaching high-performing, geographically distributed teams.
• Establishing engineering strategies aligned with standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Director, you will leverage extensive software architecture knowledge to manage development, debugging, and design of software applications, operating systems, and databases. You will enhance existing architectures and envision future improvements.

• 15+ years of software development experience with an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• 10+ years in Cloud Operations/Infrastructure Engineering, preferably in a multinational environment.
• 10-15 years leading engineering teams, including managers and senior managers.
• Strong skills in Data Services (Big Data, Data Analytics, NoSQL, OLTP databases).
• Problem-solving passion, analytical skills, and attention to detail for executive reporting.
• Ability to organize and present data effectively.
• Adaptability to quick changes and fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications
