Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. is seeking a Sr Director Safety to lead the development and execution of comprehensive safety strategies, ensuring a safe working environment across our facilities.

You will collaborate with leadership, regulators, and employees to maintain compliance with safety standards. The role requires extensive experience in safety leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a track record of building and sustaining robust safety programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 12+ years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 7+ years of management experience.
• Safety training and certificates are preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety disciplines, other regulatory guidelines, and common industrial safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and guidance on safety initiatives.
• Develop and execute the organization's safety strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
• Stay abreast of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable safety laws and standards.
• Design, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs and policies.
• Continuously assess and enhance safety programs to address emerging risks and trends.
• Ensure that training materials are current and effective in promoting safety awareness.
• Lead and oversee investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near‑misses.
• Analyze data to identify trends and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
• Develop and manage the safety budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
• Regularly interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning functional areas.
• Perform other duties as needed.
