Job summary

JLL is seeking a Senior Director of Construction/Team Lead in Chicago to supervise a portfolio of Corporate Interior projects for a financial services client, with budgets from $5M to $150M+. You will lead strategy, scheduling, procurement, and execution while mentoring junior project teams and managing client relationships.

Expected compensation ranges from $150,000 to $170,000 USD annually. This on-site role requires strong governance, risk management, and the ability to deliver high-quality

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of projects, including strategy, programming, design, schedule, entitlements, bidding, procurement, permitting, execution and close out.
• Act as player/coach and mentor a group of junior Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
• Develop high level estimates and schedules as part of the overall strategy and business case.
• Prepare project updates, identify risks early, and provide solutions to meet client-driven schedule and budget.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors and inform leadership of project issues.

What this job involves:

As a Senior Director of Construction/Team Lead at JLL, you will hold a critical position within our Regional Project Team and will be directly responsible for leading and delivering a portfolio of challenging projects for a financial services client. You will utilize your expertise and skills to oversee projects and ensure the successful delivery of Corporate Interior projects ranging in size from $5M to $150M+. Your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in project management will be instrumental in driving project success.

• Manage and oversee all aspects of projects, including strategy, programming, design, schedule, entitlements, bidding, procurement, permitting, execution and close out.
• Act as player/coach and mentor a group of junior Project Managers and Project Coordinators executing projects
• Develop high level estimates and schedules as part of the overall strategy and business case.
• Prepare project updates, identifying and communicating risks early, while providing solutions to meet client driven schedule and budget.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
• Insure leadership is fully and accurately informed of all project issues.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders and vendors.
• Monitor and manage vendor and project team performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory entities, and client expectations.
• Act as the primary contact with the client throughout the duration of the project; programming through construction close out.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring they are aligned with clients' goals and expectations.
• Develop Master Project schedules and manage project performance against schedules, scheduled milestones and critical path items on multiple projects.
• Develop a detailed project budget based on historical and market data and clearly defined set of budget assumptions.
• Facilitate initiation of all critical project meetings and coordination exercises with internal staff, key stakeholders and external users to ensure responsibilities are efficiently, accurately and effectively communicated and understood by all concerned.
• Coordinate any necessary due diligence efforts on behalf of the internal team, project partners, clients and/or end users, maintaining and delivering all appropriate documentation.
• Prepare RFP’s needed for design and contractor services as well as manage the overall vendor selection process.

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

• 10-15+ years’ experience leading Real Estate strategies with a focus on Corporate Interiors
• Experience in managing multiple diverse types of projects, varying from $5M to $150M+ in size
• Ability to manage 4-8 projects at a time
• Experience managing and mentoring a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators executing complex, large-scale projects throughout the real estate lifecycle
• Proven ability to motivate and manage multiple stakeholder groups, maintain client relationships and manage conflict resolution

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, etc.
• Experience in managing complex high end / high touch Corporate Interior projects

Expected compensation for this position: 150,000.00 – 170,000.00 USD per year Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
