About the Role

The Senior Director will lead efforts to improve healthcare access for individuals with bleeding disorders, developing strategic partnerships and driving solutions to systemic barriers. Responsibilities include executing access strategies through research, policy advocacy, education, and overseeing national programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills to influence change across the healthcare landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and implement the annual payer relations strategic plan.
  • Develop and evaluate healthcare policies and programs, advocating for legislative and regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting, including financial oversight.
  • Provide evidence-based policy research and analysis to inform leadership decisions.
  • Lead evaluative studies on emerging health and safety issues.
Access Innovation and Oversight
  • Design and oversee pilot initiatives like the CCSC program.
  • Address access issues from insurance and Marketplace changes, developing mitigation strategies.
  • Plan and execute the NBDF’s Insurance and Reimbursement Conference.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build partnerships with payers, treatment centers, government agencies, and advocacy groups.
  • Represent NBDF at national initiatives, meetings, and conferences.
  • Coordinate with national stakeholders to align goals and outreach.
Education and Knowledge Leadership
  • Support HTCs, chapters, and payer teams on billing, reporting, and compliance.
  • Educate providers and insurers on policies affecting access.
  • Create educational content and respond to urgent access challenges.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years in public policy, education, or government relations.
  • Minimum 5 years working with federal healthcare programs and payers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and research tools.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policy and blood disorders preferred.

Work Environment

This position is remote, with up to 35% domestic travel. Candidates should be comfortable working with a dispersed team and attending key events.
