Job summary

Merola Opera Program seeks a Director of Development to lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy, strengthening financial sustainability and expanding philanthropic support across performances and events.

Working closely with the Executive Director, Board, staff, and partners, you will manage major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, foundation and corporate support, and donor engagement to advance Merola's mission.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of nonprofit fundraising experience with success growing contributed revenue.
• Experience in major gifts, planned giving, grants and corporate giving.
• Experience building/growing a planned giving program.
• Knowledge of Bay Area philanthropic community is helpful.
• Experience working with a passionate Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

• Lead major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, foundation and corporate support, events, and donor engagement.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and prospects with personalized strategies.
• Partner with the Executive Director, Board, and staff to identify donors and sponsors.
• Develop and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
• Oversee fundraising operations, dashboards, budgets, and reporting to inform leadership.
