One Family’s mission is to prevent homelessness and break the cycle of family poverty in Massachusetts by promoting pathways to economic independence. Founded in 2000 in response to the growing crisis of family homelessness, One Family believes that education and career success are the foundations of lasting housing stability. This work is especially urgent in Massachusetts, where residents face some of the highest living costs in the country. Through two direct-service programs, the organization helps families at risk of or experiencing homelessness overcome barriers to higher education and family-sustaining careers, supporting their path toward lasting economic and housing stability. One Family pairs this work with public policy advocacy, engaging program participants on its Advocacy Team to use their lived experience to drive systemic change. This is a rare opportunity to lead philanthropy at an organization with a strong, established funding base and a proven model of impact. Building on this solid foundation, One Family is seeking a strategic leader with a demonstrated ability to bring in new revenue and drive significant growth. As a key member of the executive team, the Senior Director of Development will help set organization-wide strategy alongside senior leadership, build and execute a bold revenue strategy, expand One Family's funding base, elevate its brand, and deepen donor relationships, at a pivotal moment in the organization's growth.
One Family enters this moment from a position of strength: a $2.7 million budget for FY2027, anchored by a solid base of philanthropic support and a $1.7 million philanthropic revenue target. You will have the resources, stability, and leadership support to build on this foundation—pursuing new funding streams, building strategic partnerships, and leading a talented three-person team.

This is a full-time, exempt position. We are seeking candidates in the Greater Boston area who will be able to meet with donors in Boston regularly. One Family has a hybrid remote work policy, which asks employees to work from their Downtown Boston office one day per week. All local staff attend a monthly in-person team meeting.
The salary range for this position is $155,000-$165,000 annual. To ensure internal parity, salary is set according to an explicit compensation policy and in line with the current staff in the same job group.
