We’re partnering with a fast-growing consumer wellness brand seeking a Senior Director of Brand to lead how the company shows up across every consumer touchpoint, campaign, partnership, and cultural moment. This leader will own the brand strategy and creative vision while building the team and engine needed to turn an already high-growth business into a culturally relevant, widely recognized brand.
Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Define and evolve the overarching brand platform, including voice, visual identity, point of view, positioning, and storytelling across channels.
- Shape how the brand participates in culture, including where it shows up, who it partners with, what it stands for, and which opportunities align with its identity.
- Develop the long-term brand roadmap and annual marketing plan to support continued growth and brand equity.
- Ensure brand-building initiatives are developed with clear KPIs and an understanding of their impact on customer acquisition and overall business growth.
Creative & Content
- Build and lead an internal creative engine capable of translating the brand strategy into compelling, distinctive work.
- Establish the creative direction across campaigns, content, social, partnerships, and other consumer-facing touchpoints.
- Develop content and creative strategies designed to make the brand highly recognizable, shareable, and relevant within its category and broader culture.
- Maintain a consistent and differentiated brand identity while continuing to push the creative boundaries of the category.
Partnerships & Talent
- Own the strategy for brand activations, sponsorships, events, collaborations, and other high-impact cultural moments.
- Build long-term partnerships rather than relying solely on one-off campaigns or transactional relationships.
- Identify and develop relationships with athletes, artists, creators, talent, and other cultural figures who authentically align with the brand.
- Oversee partnership strategy from initial concept and negotiation through execution and performance measurement.
Communications, PR & Owned Media
- Lead editorial, communications, and PR strategy with the goal of keeping the brand relevant within broader cultural conversations.
- Own social media and community as core components of the brand strategy rather than downstream distribution channels.
- Identify opportunities for earned media, storytelling, and community engagement that strengthen brand awareness and affinity.
- Hire, develop, and lead the brand, creative, and communications organization, beginning with a lean team and scaling intentionally as the business grows.
- Partner closely with Growth, Product, Operations, and other senior leaders on go-to-market strategy, product innovation, and company priorities.
- Serve as the internal steward of the brand, ensuring its identity and point of view are reflected consistently throughout the organization.
- Own budgets, resources, timelines, and execution while balancing long-term creative vision with operational discipline.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of meaningful experience within a large, well-known, or culturally influential consumer brand, ideally with the majority of your career spent building brands at scale.
- Experience operating at the Senior Manager, Director, or Senior Director level with readiness to own the broader brand function.
- Demonstrated ownership across brand strategy, creative, partnerships, and team leadership rather than specializing exclusively in one area of marketing.
- Strong understanding of how brand-building can support customer acquisition, revenue growth, and broader commercial objectives.
- Experience developing brand initiatives with defined KPIs and measurable growth goals.
- Proven ability to create distinctive brand positioning, campaigns, experiences, and cultural moments that extend beyond traditional product marketing.
- Substantive experience working with athletes, artists, creators, influencers, talent, or other high-profile partners.
- Strong creative judgment with the ability to develop, articulate, and defend a clear point of view.
- Experience building and managing teams, overseeing budgets, and delivering complex initiatives against deadlines.
- Ability to operate comfortably across both high-level brand strategy and hands-on execution.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Growth, Product, Operations, and other business leaders.
Nice to Have
- Experience building a consumer brand across DTC, retail, and omnichannel environments.
- A track record of progressing within an organization as the brand and business scaled.
- Experience within a brand known for competing on culture, community, lifestyle, or identity rather than primarily on product attributes.
- Experience helping an emerging or high-growth brand evolve into a significantly larger, more broadly recognized business.
