Job summary

Colby College seeks an experienced Associate Athletic Director for Sports Information & Communications. You will lead a team, serve as the primary media contact for varsity programs, and coordinate live statistics, streaming, and social media coverage for all contests.

You will collaborate with campus communications and senior leadership on crisis messaging, storytelling opportunities, and brand identity, while ensuring compliance and timely communication across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in athletics communications, sports information, media relations, and marketing.
• Outstanding oral and written communications; attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends and travel as required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet fleet safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor communications staff, fostering accountability and innovation.
• Serve as primary media and communications contact for varsity programs.
• Represent Colby College on conference and national committees.
• Assist in crisis communications and high-profile messaging with senior leadership.
• Support storytelling opportunities and sport-specific media needs.
• Manage department brand identity, graphics, and social media content.
