Job summary

WelbeHealth seeks a Senior Director, Network Strategy to drive enterprise network strategy and contracting, expanding access to high-quality care for California participants. You will lead negotiations with hospitals, health systems, and major provider groups while guiding a growing team across regions.

You will oversee market dynamics, network adequacy, and reimbursement strategies, ensuring alignment with value-based care goals and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in provider network strategy and managed care contracting.
• Experience leading negotiations with hospitals, health systems and large provider organizations.
• Knowledge of network adequacy standards, provider operations, reimbursement methodologies, and value-based care models.
• Proven track record building provider networks across multiple markets or regions, with focus on California.
• Experience within Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, PACE, or value-based care environments.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience with ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Strong leadership experience managing high-performing teams in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor network adequacy to ensure timely access to high-quality providers and services.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive market conditions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of network strategy and contracting professionals.
• Foster collaboration across Finance, Analytics, Operations, clinical leadership, Compliance, and growth teams.
• Lead outreach and complex negotiations with hospitals, health systems, and large provider partners.
• Explore innovative contracting approaches tied to outcomes like access, coordination, and performance.
